Windows
Live Mail is best used desktop application to access the mails and it
can be configured with all your mail clients to receive easy emails.
Optionally one can use IMAP connection for reading the incoming
emails which allows to keeps the messages on the servers instead of
downloading them on the computer. Keeping the messages on the server
can be really helpful if the users read the mail in different ways.
To
configure the IMAP open the properties settings window for the mail
account and set the root folder path to specify the folders for
storing the drafts, messages and copy of messages. Here are steps to
be followed to reset the IMAP folder –

Start Windows Live Mail and then click on ‘Tools’ followed by ‘Accounts’.

Now click on ‘Properties’ and there is no need to change the settings on the General tab.

Next click on the IMAP tab and enter ‘Inbox’ for Root folder path. Also check the box marked ‘Check for new messages in all folders’.

Check the box marked as ‘Store special folders on IMAP server’ and enter ‘Sent’ for the ‘Sent Items Path’.

For ‘Drafts Path’ enter ‘Drafts’ and enter ‘Trash’ for ‘Deleted Items Path’.

Click ‘OK’ to close the properties window and click ‘Close’ to close the Accounts window.
